An elegant, dry Portuguese rosé from Serra d'Ossa in Alentejo, hand-harvested at night and made from Touriga Nacional and Aragonez.

Tasting Notes

An elegant, dry Portuguese rosé, shaped by Serra d'Ossa and crafted with intention. Salmon in colour, clear and bright. The nose offers grapefruit and yellow stone fruit, lifted by subtle florals. On the palate: balanced and rounded, lively acidity and a refreshing finish true to its Alentejo origin.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand at night, then pressed gently and directly, a method that protects the fruit and preserves the wine's freshness. The wine matures for a minimum of six months in stainless steel, retaining its lively, youthful character.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Grapefruit, stone fruit and floral notes give this rosé range at the table. The acidity cuts through richer starters and creamy salads, and carries well into fish and seafood. It holds its own with sushi and umami-forward dishes, balancing soy without overpowering it. The floral character also suits white meats such as grilled chicken and turkey, and dishes built on herbs and spice.

Grape Varieties

Touriga Nacional
Portugal's signature grape, prized for its aromatic intensity. As a red variety it typically shows dark fruit such as blackberry and plum, with herbal notes of liquorice and mint, and a structural core lifted by violet florality.

Aragonez
Known as Tempranillo in Spain and as Tinta Roriz elsewhere in Portugal. It offers ripe red fruit such as cherry, plum and raspberry, layered with spice, tobacco and earthy undertones.

In Hossio Rosé, the roles shift. Touriga Nacional lends its perfume and lift, while Aragonez provides the structure and acidity that give the wine its backbone.

Production and Sustainability

Hossio began with two people and a neglected vineyard in Serra d'Ossa. What we make comes from that work: night-harvested by hand, minimal intervention, shaped by the land rather than imposed on it.

Water is treated as a resource to manage, not assume. For the first two months of the irrigation season, vines are watered with rainwater drawn from an old nora, a traditional Portuguese waterwheel well. Irrigation is calibrated by sensor-measured soil and water levels throughout, so vines receive only what they need.
