Tasting Notes and wine making process:

This elegant rosé wine presents a salmon hue and a clear appearance. The nose bursts with aromas of grapefruit, yellow stone fruits, and subtle floral hints. On the palate, it offers a balanced and rounded character, lively acidity, and a refreshing finish that perfectly reflects its Alentejo origins while capturing the freshness of the Serra D’Ossa.

The wine’s vibrant profile is a direct result of the meticulous winemaking process. Night-time, manual harvests ensure gentle handling of the grapes, which are then directly and delicately pressed to extract only the finest juice. Following this careful selection, the wine is matured for a minimum of six months in stainless steel, a practice that preserves its freshness and accentuates its lively, youthful character.

Food Pairing Suggestions:

The wine’s zesty grapefruit and yellow stone fruit aromas, combined with its crisp acidity and delicate floral touches, make it an ideal companion for a variety of dishes. Its vibrant freshness cuts through richer starters and creamy salads, while its rounded palate complements the delicate flavours of fish and seafood. The lively acidity pairs beautifully with sushi and oriental cuisine, enhancing umami notes and balancing soy-based sauces. The subtle floral character harmonises well with white meats, such as grilled chicken or turkey, as well as dishes featuring aromatic herbs and spices.

Grape Varieties

Touriga Nacional stands as the signature grape of Portugal, renowned for its ability to flourish in warmer climates. This variety imparts deep and dark characteristics to the wine. On the nose, it reveals a medley of blackberry, currant, and plum fruitiness, intertwined with intense herbal notes such as liquorice and mint. The palate showcases a distinct slate core, complemented by a surprising violet florality that adds complexity and elegance to the overall profile.

Aragonês is a distinctive grape variety celebrated on both sides of the Iberian border. Known as Tempranillo in Spain, it takes on the names Aragonez and Tinta Roriz within Portugal, depending on the region. Aromatically, Aragonês offers enticing notes of ripe red berries, including cherry, plum, and raspberry. These vibrant fruit flavours are often enhanced by subtle hints of spice, tobacco, and earthy undertones, creating a layered and harmonious bouquet.
